What is hypnosis?
It is a natural state which everyone experiences daily, sometimes called trance.  Trance happens when you are so absorbed in something, that you are not aware of your surroundings, e.g. reading, watching TV, listening to music, involved in a hobby or day-dreaming.  If anything needs your attention, you can snap right out of it, anytime you choose.  All hypnosis is really self-hypnosis; the hypnotherapist is your facilitator.

How does hypnosis work? 
Our minds work on two levels - the conscious and the unconscious. We make decisions, think, and act with our conscious mind. The unconscious mind controls our habits.  In the relaxed state known as hypnosis, we can communicate directly with the unconscious mind.  This is why it is so quick and easy to change habits of a lifetime using hypnosis.

How does hypnosis help me kick the smoking habit? 
Because, in my opinion, smoking is a habit, I believe it to be controlled by the unconscious mind.  Since hypnosis and NLP work directly with the unconscious, this is the only method that makes sense!

What about the withdrawal symptoms? 
Your unconscious mind is very creative and powerful; I can help you to use this power to mask any withdrawal symptoms for the short time it takes for the nicotine to leave your blood stream.  Then the healing process begins and you can look forward to a healthier future.
 




Will hypnosis work for me? 
Yes, if you want it to.  In my opinion, the only people who cannot be hypnotised, are those who are drunk, drugged, or with severely reduced communication skills.  Normal, creative, imaginative and intelligent people, respond easily and excellently.

I never relax, I am a bit of a control freak & I am very analytical, can I be hypnotised? 
Yes, but only if you want to be.  You are in control; the Hypnotherapist acts as a guide, you can choose whether to follow.  The analytical part of your brain can observe the whole process.  You will probably find the experience fascinating, as you will hear every word that is said to you.

How will I know if I am hypnotised? 
Most people cannot tell the difference between the hypnotised and waking states.  Some people feel relaxed, or lethargic, and others feel light, or floaty.  One thing that people do notice, is an inexplicable change in their daily behaviours.

Is hypnosis safe? 
Yes, you are aware, and in control, at every moment, and can terminate the session at any time.  Hypnosis is not sleep, nor can you get 'stuck' in a state of hypnosis.  You cannot be made to reveal secrets, or to do something against your will!  Hypnosis is a natural, relaxing and enjoyable experience.
